Summer has come to an end, but don’t be sad. We are here to remind you that there are so many reasons to fall in love with fall (pun completely intended). This season is a wonderful time of year: from the beginning of football season, to Thanksgiving, sweater weather, apple crisp, hot apple cider, the changing colors of the leaves, Halloween, pumpkins, apple picking and all the other activities that surround fall. There are an abundance of fall activities to experience. While the weather is still beautiful, it’s time to get outside and enjoy this season. Let’s take a look at some of the activities that you can do this autumn!

Take a Trip to Spooky Places

Witch City – Salem, MA
You don’t have to go far! It’s surprising to find out how many places are rumored to be haunted or have “spooky” roots. Living close to Salem, Massachusetts has its perks in the fall. Salem is famous for the 1692 witch trails in which many people were killed for practicing witchcraft. Last year, I had the chance to visit and found it fascinating to learn about the history of the witch trials.
The city also boasts a plethora of museums, shops, historic homes, cemeteries, open markets, and walking tours that give you the chills. This cool town always gets spooky around this time of year.
Festivals and Fairs

Every town in the Northeast has their fair share of fall activities. Where I’m from, there’s an apple harvest festival, a Keene State Pumpkin Festival, and multiple fairs to attend. I have fond memories growing up as a child going to the Deerfield Fair with my family, watching all the animals, walking around eating fried dough, and people watching. Fall fairs and festivals are a must! To find a fair or festival near you a simple google search will do.
Apple Picking, Pumpkin Carving, and Corn Mazes
Fall is my favorite time of year. I love getting outside, experiencing the crisp fall weather, and doing basic fall things. Pumpkin carving, corn mazes, haunted houses, and apple picking – I love them all. Watching scary movies is a must for me as well.

So spooky, but the details here and all the pumpkins are truly worth appreciating.
Time to get scared! This past weekend, my friends and I went to Haunted Overload in Lee, New Hampshire. We have been going for the past couple years, for a night of screaming, scares, and fun! It’s a scary walk with insane details put into the costume and decorations. The cast members jump out at you, interact with you, but they are not allowed to touch you!

I truly have no idea what this guy was meant to be, but he was fun and let me take a picture with him and hold his “pet rat.
I truly love getting scared with all my friends at a Haunted House or on Haunted Walk. If you’re like me check out these 13 Bone-Chilling Haunted Tours. There is a whole host of places to visit around the world, and a lot of very scary experiences to try only if you dare!
Halloween Parties
Halloween is a great time to throw a party, whether it’s spooky or festive. Decorate with jack o lanterns, go bobbing for apples, drink apple cider martinis, and get together with your friends. When you plan for your Halloween party, add a little twist by telling your friends their will be a prize for the best costume. The extra incentive will turn everyone’s creativity and your entertainment up a notch. What’s better than enjoying the season and being with your friends?

Dressed up as a skeleton for Halloween last year
It might be fun to create a video of your friends from past Halloweens to show old photos. Who doesn’t like seeing how we dressed up when we were younger?
