Holiday shopping can be an overwhelming experience. You have to figure out what to get for everyone on your list and find the best deals possible in the process. Unfortunately, we’re not Santa and we don’t have elves to assist us in our shopping. There are, however, some hot new technologies that can help. Below we introduce five tools that will change the way you shop this year.
Don’t know what to get Aunt Liz? Gifts.com has a personality quiz that provides gift suggestions. Fill out a short quiz for your receiver and gifts.com provides suggestions on what to purchase them. Better yet, Gifts.com links you to the page where you can purchase the gift. This is an important feature—we all know the frustration of seeing a product and not knowing where you can purchase it. Which brings us to our next “elf”…
Your Mom adores the candle you got her last year, but you have no idea where you bought it or how much it cost. There’s a way to fix this: download a barcode scanner app. When you scan an item’s barcode the app displays the price, as well as where it can be purchased from. Some of the better apps will even tell you where the best deal is. We all love a deal.
If the mall is Santa’s reindeer, then Groupon is Rudolph. We are bombarded by stimuli all holiday season: “Black Friday sale!” “Clearance!” “Biggest sale of the year!” But how do you navigate this commercial maze? Like a red-nosed reindeer lighting the way to the best deals, Groupon.com displays coupons available for purchase in your area. Although you pay to purchase the coupon, you ultimately spend less on an item once the discount is factored in. If you want a deal, then check out this website for fantastic gift ideas.
We would all love to be paid to shop. Wouldn’t it be great if we spent money, and then got paid based on how much we spent? Not paid in store credit, but in cash. Well, ladies and gentlemen, you can do just that. eBates.com allows you to shop at almost any online store (the list is extremely long) and then receive reimbursement for a percentage of the money that you spent. That’s right, you’re getting paid to shop.
And so, there is no shortage of fantastic tools to help us get our Holiday shopping done. But even Santa doesn’t do his holiday shebang without a list. This is where NoteLedge comes in. Make no mistake, NoteLedge is more than just a list. Like something you saw on a website? Screenshot it and insert it into your NoteLedge journal with a link. When you’re out and about getting your shopping done, cross out items or circle them as you go. You don’t have to type to jot down notes either—simply freehand “green” next to “Anna’s iPhone 5c,” or highlight it in green, or take a picture of the green iPhone 5c and insert it next to the text. NoteLedge is here to help you get your shopping done quickly and efficiently, leaving you more time for fun with family and friends. After all, that’s what this season is all about, right?
